BEMSEE first race meeting 2018

Event on Saturday 10th March 2018

The countdown is on. The first race meeting of the year will be at Brands Hatch 10th-11th March.

All those countless hours of fettling, polishing and sitting on the bike making Braaaap noises will culminate in that nervous excitement when your class is called.

BEMSEE are one of the most professional racing clubs in the UK with classes to suit everyone, from the youngsters in Minitwins all the way to full on Powerbikes via Yamaha Past Masters on their RD's and TZR's.

One thing we love about BEMSEE here at Properly Protected is their efforts to help new riders get started in the sport. BEMSEE offer Rider support and development throughout the season, including a Rookies training day before the season starts.

Founded in 1909 The British Motorcycle Racing Club (BMCRC or BEMSEE) makes it the oldest Motorcycle racing club in the world, and has seen some of the most famous British racers of all time compete in its events including Mike Hailwood, Phil Read and Barry Sheene.

On to modern times and the constant desire to stay well ahead of the rest, BEMSEE have classes designed to bring the best out of all of their racers, from the perennial club racers who form the backbone of British Racing, they turn up week in week out at their own expense to thrash well presented bikes around the circuit, to the up and coming stars who start out in the Properly Protected supported MRO Minitwins, amazing us with their speed and bravery as they start out on a lifetime path of racing, aspiring to make the jump into BSB or the hallowed ground of International Racing.

I can't forget to mention the Sidecar racers. A class of their own and a race that pretty much everyone stops what they are doing to watch. Most of us simply smile at the madness of it all, whilst admiring the crazy guys and girls hurtling around the circuit with their backside just cm's from the tarmac.

Finally a special mention must go to the Marshalls and organisers, without whom there would be no racing. Volunteers who give up their time week in week out to help organise the meeting and ensure riders and spectators are safe. Thank you each and every one of you.

Properly Protected are once again proud to return as a class sponsor for the Minitwins and we look forward to catching up with everyone at Brands on the 10th and 11th March 2018.
